Rage ! A modern thing they say, and yet
it's roots lay in the way we have always dealt with our sore feelings. Left
unchecked they amass a great wealth of energy that can drive us to moments
of near insanity as we strive to relieve ourselves from the hell.
Rage is actually just a symptom of the underlying
problem. It's a symptom of modern day living and it's pressure on us to
keep up with the pace. As the UK strives to understand why it has the worst
rage record in Europe we may also ask ourselves why, as a nation, we struggle
to communicate and openly express our feelings.
Our sore feelings may be the key to our
relief but for over a century now the good old British stiff upper lip has
served to enshrine a sense of shame on those that wanted to express their
feelings openly.
The time has come to recognise that your
feelings, your sore feelings are simply indicators, that all is not well.
Don't hide them away, embrace them, relate to them and with a little help
from us learn to use them to avoid rage.
